Stay active in the fascinating natural landscape of the Dolomites

Zatzerhof – Recreation in front of a dreamlike scenery

The majestic panorama and breath-taking views will accompany you throughout your holidays at the Zatzerhof, near the Alpe di Siusi. One of the highlights of the Zatzerhof is our heated outdoor pool. Have fun in the water while enjoying the wonderful views. Our heated outdoor pool lies right in the heart of the beautiful natural landscape of the Dolomites – and you’ll be swimming towards the mountain peak. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, the Zatzerhof B&B is your ideal accommodation in the Dolomites. The pristine nature of the area, crystal-clear air and soothing silence will recharge your batteries and sooth your soul, far away from traffic and the stresses of everyday life. Enjoy the sweet pleasure of doing nothing on comfortable sunbeds on our large sunbathing lawn.

Hike straight from the Zatzerhof into the surrounding mountain paradise:

The Alpe di Siusi lies right in the heart of the Dolomites - Europe's largest alpine pasture: it’s the ideal place for long hikes, exciting cycling adventures and climbing tours. And the Alpe di Siusi Railway is just a few minutes’ drive (or walk) away. The Alpe di Siusi and South Tyrol in general are the ideal place for active holidays – whatever your age, fitness and ability level is! The many rustic huts along countless hiking trails are the perfect place to gather and enjoy traditional, home-made South Tyrolean delicacies.

Our suggestion - Hikes directly from our house:

  • Short hike to Völser Weiher (approx. 1 hour 15 min.).
  • Beautiful hike to the Marinzen-Alm over meadow paths (ca. 1 Stunde). Do you love fishing? Then you should follow this route that takes you to a gorgeous fishing pond.
  • Hike to the castle ruins of Hauenstein and Salegg (each approx. 1 hour). The climbing wall at the Burg Hauenstein is a dream for climbing enthusiasts.

You can also embark on a number of exciting cycling tours directly from our house. Please ask our staff for more info.

St. Valentin – Siusi & Castelrotto

In Siusi and Castelrotto you will find many good restaurants and bars to indulge yourself in the evening and for lunch. Tasteful shops and small boutiques invite you to shop in South Tyrol.
And if you after some cultural stuff, the many museums in the surrounding area will give you exactly what you’re looking for. Farmers Museum in St. Oswald; Kastelruther Spatzen Museum in Castelrotto; School Museum in Tagusens and the Traditional Costume Museum in Castelrotto.

All passionate action and climbing lovers will feel at home in the large bouldering hall in Castelrotto. Here you can set yourself a new challenge on the incredibly hard "level E" climbing route.
And if you’re not too much into adrenaline and rather keep it smooth, you can go for a horse ride on a gorgeous Haflinger, South Tyrol’s trademark horse breed. Several riding stables in the area offer horseback rides and lessons – Can you imagine a better way to discover the beautiful landscape of the Alpe di Siusi than from the back of a horse?

Romantic evenings & warm summer nights

End your day end on our "Holz Söller" with a book in your hands and enjoy the sunset on the Sciliar. This is a holiday at the Zatzerhof in St. Valentin near Siusi.
